Hinckley Water Activities Training Centre or HWATC, are a community focussed water sports centre based in Hinckley, Leicestershire - which offers kayaking, canoeing and outdoor activities to individuals and groups. The centre is a voluntary based organisation which focuses its work on getting the local community on the water to enjoy the sport! The centre is situated in a superb location, with private use of a lake and easy access onto the nearby Ashby Canal. Both of these offer our paddlers excellent waters to try our activities in a peaceful, safe and controlled environment. We operate a newcomers/members paddling session every Thursday evening throughout the summer months, which offers a great opportunity for newcomers and families to enjoy the water. We also run a number of sessions throughout the summer months. Our services are available to individuals, families, groups and corporate groups e.g Scouts, Guides, Schools, Youth Groups, Duke of Edinburgh's Groups. HWATC are also proud supporters of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, assisting groups train and complete the DofE.
Kayaking, Canoeing, Bell Boating, Raft Building, Team Building, BCU PaddlePower Award, BCU Paddlesport Start Awards, Water Safety Training Courses, Team Building and Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition Training & Expeditions.
HWATC also offer a number of Nationally Accredited course in line with British Canoe Union and UKCC syllabi. We can assist paddlers at any level, whether they are new to the sport or wish to progress into coaching the sport.
