The centre is essentially a sports club run by dedicated volunteers who have a passion for the sport! We focus our work on getting the local community on the water to enjoy : kayaking, caneoing and bell boating.
The centre is situated in a superb location, with use of a lake and easy access onto the nearby Ashby Canal. Both of these offer our paddlers excellent waters to try our activities in a peaceful, safe and controlled environment.
We operate a paddling session every Thursday evening throughout the summer months, which offers a great opportunity for newcomers and families to enjoy the water. We also run a number of pool sessions throughout the winter months. We also regularly organise trips for all abilities, ages and preferences.
Our Users Include: - Individuals - Families - Corporate Groups - Scouts - Guides - Local Schools - Youth Groups - Duke of Edinburgh's Award Groups -

This Summer the world will be watching in anticipation as the Olympic and Paralympic games come to London. The excitement of watching GB Athletes compete in a whole host of different Sports makes us wonder what we can take part in locally ourselves.
This May, Paddle for Life comes to Hinckley. Young people aged 14-25yrs will get the opportunity to try out a variety of Paddle sports at Hinckley Water Activities Training Centre in Hinckley. Not only will you learn how to paddle Canoes and Kayaks for Fun, but Olympic 2012 Disciplines of Marathon and Slalom can be given a go as part of an 8 week programme. The British Canoe Union 1 Star Award can be awarded on completion of this course.
